Software synths that try to look like hardware Pt 2

Anyone know of any more ? :o)

  • Damn, there I was all ready to have a go at you saying "of course they made them look like real 3D synths; they are modelled on real synths afterall!" and then you come along and post up that Rob Papen stuff :p
If youre going to model the sound, you might as well model the case too. 9/10(to the nearest power of 12) muscians would prefer the hardware version over a software version. We as humans love tactile stuff! Things with lights and knobs and twisty twiddly bits... we love the idea that we've got real stuff.

What happens, someone asks you what kind of synth you got, you tell em... oh man I got a Moog, you know one of them big wardrobe sized fuckers... and the person asking is astounded, asks you how much it cost... oh man it was free, downloaded it off bit torrent last night. Bought or stolen, virtual hardware is like pornography; if it looks real and it sounds real, then for all intensive purposes while we use it, it is real. Hey 9/10 guys would love a girlfriend(yes even the gays), heck, they'd love a room full of girlfriends, but its just not practical man, its just not practical... and I dont know where the hell I get these analogies from :D

Don't underestimated the power of novelty.
