Akai MPC editor software

After finding this little beauty called MPC Pad 187...

...and then discovering it was Mac only, I decided to go on a quest for PC editing software to make my MPC experience a little more enjoyable.

And to my surprise I found three !!

First off, MPC Editor from Midicase....

...a shareware program that seems to be geared more towards the older MPC's like the MPC2000, MPC2000XL, MPC3000 or MPC60 with OS3.1.

Then I found an unsupported bit of software called MPC1000PC...

...via MPC1000.com, which looks like MPC Editor but for the MPC1000.

Finally, I found BlueBox...

...a much more recent and definitely more powerful app, again specifically for the MPC1000, but will work just as well with the MPC2500 and MPC500, although due to the 500's 12 pads, Pads 13-16 overlap into 1-4 on the subsequent pad bank when transferring.

I'm now off to have a bit of fun assembling kits and the like. I might be some time ;o)

  • Thank you for the info regards the MPC1000 editor, its been invaluable.

Im thinking about upgrading my OS to the unofficial JJ Os 4.0...4.11.

Have you heard any horror stories.

Kate Bush or Fairlight, both very sexy things, I agree.
    Thanks Again

  • Glad to hear you got some benefit from those apps :o)

As for the JJ OS, I have the latest (4.76) installed and no issues here. I know a few people experience blips from time to time with little things here or there but nothing major. It certainly is worth the $30, as you will get a good amount of benefit from it.

Best place to go is the MPC forums at http://www.mpc-forums.com/index.php

They have dedicated JJ OS boards and lots of people who can help, including myself ;o)
